DENTALXCHANGE LAUNCHES NEW CREDENTIALING SOLUTION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DELTA DENTAL OF COLORADO

  • Multi-carrier digital credentialing solution will be customized and co-branded for Delta Dental of Colorado
  • Provider experience to be enhanced by one-stop-shop for credentialing through online portal

DentalXChange, the creator of industry-leading electronic claims solution, ClaimConnect, has announced a new partnership with Delta Dental of Colorado through which the two companies will launch the first-ever co-branded edition of DentalXChange’s popular DDS Enroll software.

The new offering will be the first in the nation to give Delta Dental providers the ability to complete credentialing requirementsonline—not only for Delta Dental of Colorado but for many different insurance companies, which will increase provider utilization, according to Dr. Cheryl A. Lerner, DMD, Vice President of Network and Clinical Management for Delta Dental of Colorado.

“Credentialing is a major pain point for dentists and insurance companies alike,” says Dr. Lerner. “Providers must be re-credentialed every three years in order for claims to be processed. Without renewed credentials, providers can lose thousands of dollars each year in unpaid claims, while insurance companies exhaust hours and resources attempting to track down renewal applications.”

LeAnn Morris, Vice President of Business Development for DentalXChange, explains that the traditional credentialing process also lends itself to costly errors.

“Currently, dental offices nationwide are sent credentialing renewal reminders via mail, which are easily overlooked,” says Morris. “Our partnership with Delta Dental of Colorado gives us the opportunity to address and rectify industry inefficiencies. With our new digital solution, providers will be able to access credentialing information online, input data digitally, upload supporting documents easily, indicate required fields and data requirements quickly, and securely sign forms electronically in order to reduce time and errors in the credentialing process.”

Morris reports that digital credentialing solutions have been attempted by others in the past, but the new DentalXChange co-branded DDS Enroll solution will be one of the first to offer a solution that is designed specifically for the dental industry that will support multi-carrier credentialing.

“Many providers have contracts with up to 30 different payers,” Morris explains. “In the past, these dental practices would have to spend countless hours fulfilling lengthy credentialing applications for each carrier individually. With our new software, providers will be able to enter their information and upload documents only once and that data will be applied across all applications, which saves time and money for a busy practice.”

The new co-branded DDS Enroll solution will also enable Delta Dental of Colorado to maintain its high standard of quality control, according to Dr. Lerner, who explains that the California-based DentalXChange team will follow up with providers individually as needed to assist with the online credentialing platform.

“We knew from the beginning that we were seeking a partner who could deliver the same exceptional customer service that our company takes pride in,” says Dr. Lerner. “DentalXChange’s industry-leading software solutions and customer-focused culture made them the perfect fit as our partner in this important project.”

DentalXChange will integrate a series of digital features into the new co-branded DDS Enroll platform, including:

  • Auto-Populating Fields

After forms are initially completed through DDS Enroll, the Question Wizard will save user information and autofill fields on any additional applications thereafter.

  • Document Repository

DentalXChange supports the ability to upload required documentation or certifications needed to submit or renew credentials.

  • E-Signature

Users will have the option to electronically sign credentialing applications.

  • Tracking Progress

Providers can view submitted credentialing applications and check the status of their credential renewals through DDS Enroll.

  • Virtual Reminders

The program will send virtual reminders to users along with document expiration reminders to reduce the potential gap in renewal time or risk of termination from the network.

  • Free Training and Troubleshooting

Users will have access to training, including live chat for quick questions as well as walk-throughs. Training will be provided directly from the credentialing team at DentalXChange, eliminating the need to contact insurance companies.

“The value that DDS Enroll brings to both payers and providers is unmatched in the industry,” says DentalXChange’s Morris. “This is a much-needed and forward-thinking solution, and it will deliver bottom-line benefits to both providers and payers alike.”

3 Things To Ask When Selecting A Merchant Service Provider

Choosing the right Merchant Services Provider can be a daunting task. To help make things a bit easier we wanted to give you a list of topics you should cover with anyone you are talking to about purchasing merchant services. We talked to Sahand Moussavi, PayConnect Portfolio Manager at DentalXChange and asked him “What are the top three things people should look for when selecting a Merchant Service Provider?”

He gave us 4, because he’s cool like that.

1. Features & Capabilities: “Making sure your merchant service provider has the technical capabilities that suits your office is crucial. It is not just simply about processing a credit card anymore. Many other features are now available to help run your business more efficiently. Some of these capabilities including emailing receipts, automated recurring transactions, credit score checks, electronic signature capabilities and EMV Chip transactions. Also, your provider should also be integrated with other software and companies, combining the best of both worlds. Regarding dental practices in particular, they should definitely choose a provider that has the ability to do Automated Recurring Transactions & credit score checks. Dental offices set many of their patients up on payment plans, so a recurring billing service plus a credit check service is crucial to ensure you can extend credit at a low risk.”

2. Customer Service: “Customer Service is often overlooked in merchant services, but it is important to choose a provider that has personal customer service and doesn’t force you to get your support from an automated service. Customer service begins right when you sign the contract. Since ALL merchant service providers are essentially a middleman between the merchant and the card brands (Visa, MasterCard, etc.), transparency is very important. A clear and easy to read merchant processing application is a good sign that the service will be good. It is important to have access to 24/7 live support, as dealing with financial transitions can sometimes be an urgent matter. Having personalized customer service is very helpful as a team that is familiar with your account and how it’s set up will make it much less likely for mistakes, and will streamline any changes you want to make.”

3. Pricing: “Pricing is another important factor when it comes to deciding your merchant provider. You want to make sure that the provider offers various pricing models. Different business types use various processing methods and some pricing models will work better for you than others. The card brands charge fees themselves, called Interchange Fees. These fees vary depending on business types as well, so you want to make sure your business is placed in the right category with your provider so you’re getting charged the right fees. Also, your merchant processing application should display any possible fee/rate/charge you might encounter. So once again, make sure your application shows everything when it comes to fees and rates.”

4. PCI & Security Standards: “Being a merchant, you are going to deal with sensitive card information. It is imperative you check the system and training you have been provided are in accordance with Payment Card Industry Rules (PCI). You should ask your provider right away if they are compliant with PCI rules and make sure you are familiar with how their system treats sensitive data. All merchant service providers are required to become PCI Compliant. PCI Compliant Level 1 is the highest level of PCI privacy and security recognized by the PCI Security Standards Council and you want to use a provider who has reached this level.”

If you have any other questions or would like to have your current Merchant Account looked at, give us a call at (800) 576-6412 ext. 473. Sahand, or one of our other PayConnect representatives will make sure you are not being over charged and you are getting the most out of your merchant services.

DentalXChange at CDA Presents Anaheim, May 4-6 2017

We could not be more excited to attend CDA Presents Anaheim 2017. We are always excited to see old friend and make new ones, but this year we have something BIG to share with all of you.

The release of our new Attachment Service for ClaimConnect!

Our new service will save hundreds of hours by allowing dental providers to attach supporting documents (e.g. x-rays, periodontal charts, EOBs, narratives) that may be required by an insurance company to adjudicate a claim, directly through your ClaimConnect account.

Now, we have a single software system for creating claims and attaching documents, resulting in improved efficiency for both providers and payers.

Features include:

  • System Notifications

Alerts notify the user when an attachment is required, increasing speed and reducing errors on the provider’s side, which it-turn decreases follow-up time with insurance companies.

  • Optimized Image Tools

DentalXChange’s attachment software offers highly functional image tools including high-quality image resolution, and the ability to rotate, zoom, and change image brightness and contrast to better examine attachments.

  • Fully Customizable Platform

The attachment service can be customized and integrated into Practice Management Systems, giving providers the flexibility to personalize the software to their needs.

  • Secure Archive

Payers and providers can view submitted claims and attachments in a secure online archive at any time.

  • Low Cost, Contract-Free Structure

DentalXChange’s attachment service does not require a contract. Payers and providers have the flexibility to sign up for the service on a monthly basis. While many attachment services charge users upwards of $450 annually, DentalXChange offers its attachment service at a price of $25 per month ($300 annual).

All of our innovative products and services have been designed to help dentists run their practice in a more efficient and cost effective manner. Our services are so renowned that the California Dental Association has endorsed us for 6 straight years!

Our booth will be located at #703. Visitors can find out how much time and money they can save by switching from paper to EDI. Plus, when you sign up for one of our paid services at the convention, we’ll give you a 19” Disney character plush toy. The perfect souvenir from Anaheim, California!

The Need For Credit

DocandPatient1200x628

In today’s economic climate, the need for dental practices to extend credit to prospective patients is a necessity. With the rising cost of healthcare across the board, most patients just cannot afford to pay for their treatment in one lump sum. So they will look for a dental practice that will extend them credit to pay over time.

Unfortunately, according to a report from the Corporation for Enterprise Development, “56% of consumers have subprime credit scores. Meaning they are unable to take advantage of the best, or even average interest rates if they need to borrow money.” So where does that leave your practice? Do you blindly extend credit on faith, hoping you’ll eventually see your return?

The good news is you don’t have to with our new Patient Credit Score Services.

This innovative service provides you and your staff with the financial data needed for making in-house credit decisions. Powered by TransUnion, you’ll get a synthesized report featuring a FICO score and the healthcare-specific metrics you need to get a more complete picture of your patient’s financial situation, right at the point of service.
Here are the great ways this service is designed to help make better in-house decisions:

  • Improve financial counseling with easy to read Decision Messages, which help staff with in-office credit determinations.
  • Expedite the registration process and improve revenue recovery through self-reported data that is quickly verified.
  • Reduce fraud and identity theft through five standard alert messages, including Red Flags.
  • Review the patient’s available credit and TransUnion New Account score, which are compared against pre-set thresholds to help optimize your collections processes.
  • Improve your charity care determination process and reduce bad debt by comparing the patient’s Federal Poverty Level (FPL) % estimate, which is compared against financial aid thresholds.
  • Makes soft inquiry on a patient’s credit, which will not affect their credit score.

Patient Credit Score Services will help your practice make objective, ability-to-pay decisions and ultimately help you collect on services rendered.

Improve your financial counseling and collection with DentalXChange!
